Sebastien Ourselin
Also known as Sébastien Ourselin, Sebastien Ourselin A
Sebastien Ourselin is a medical imaging researcher whose work applies image registration and deep learning to clinical imaging. In 2002, he coauthored a MICCAI paper on robust, real-time multimodal registration; in 2017, he coauthored NiftyNet, a deep-learning platform for medical imaging. He joined King’s College London as Head of the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences in 2018. He became a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2023 and took up King’s fractional Assistant Principal (Innovation) role in March 2025, while directing digital health work at King’s Health Partners. His 2026 work applies SAM2 to intraoperative OCT video segmentation, and as of October 2026 he is Head of the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences at King’s College London.
