David Andreoff Evans

Also known as David A. Evans

David Andreoff Evans is a computational linguist whose work applies natural-language processing to text indexing and retrieval. He earned a Stanford PhD, then taught linguistics and computer science and established a computational-linguistics program and laboratory at Carnegie Mellon. CLARIT grew into Claritech, and his later papers examined noun-phrase analysis and cross-language retrieval; he was elected a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics in 1999. As of October 2026, he is President and Chief Scientist of MetaMoJi Global Research.
