Marsha Chechik
Also known as Maria Marsha A. Chechik
Marsha Chechik is a professor at the University of Toronto whose work applies formal methods to software quality. She received her PhD from the University of Maryland in 1996 and chaired the university's computer science department from 2019 to 2022. From 2021 to 2024 she served as vice-chair of ACM SIGSOFT, and she has chaired the group since 2024. The ACM named her a Fellow in its 2024 class, citing her contributions to formal reasoning for quality software development at scale. In 2022 she received the Bell University Laboratory Chair in Software Engineering, a five-year appointment.
