Sima Acan

Sima Acan is a Member of Parliament whose committee work includes the study of emerging artificial intelligence technologies. She studied engineering at university, worked in public safety and moved to Canada before her 2024 campaign. She announced a bid for the Liberal nomination in Oakville West in August 2024, won the riding in April 2025 and was sworn in as its first MP in May 2025. She built a small business in her region and became the Oakville Lions Club’s first female president by 2026. As of October 2026, she is the Member of Parliament for Oakville West.
