Researcher

Anindita Sahoo

Anindita Sahoo is a linguistics researcher whose 2024 study used an artificial neural network to investigate how visual perception relates to spatial language. She published early papers on Odia and South Asian passive constructions, earned a PhD on South Asian passives at IIT Delhi in 2015, and began teaching at IIT Madras in 2017. In 2025, she coauthored a paper on linguistic identity with Pratiti Palit. As of October 2026, she is an Assistant Professor at IIT Madras and affiliate faculty at WSAI.
