Equity grants drive the disclosed total
The stock and option amounts are grant-date fair values under the accounting rules. They measure the value assigned when an award is made. The cash an executive eventually receives depends on vesting, performance conditions and later share prices. All dollar figures here are nominal.
The median gives each person-company fiscal year equal weight. The pooled shares give more weight to larger awards. We include a row when the proxy title states CEO or Chief Executive Officer; this includes former CEOs and division CEOs. Titles can describe the role at the filing date. When a title cell is empty, we use the title from another year only if the executive, company and proxy match and there is a single stated title. Rows whose titles remain empty are left out. The records cover executives with profiles on this site and form a selected sample of public-company disclosures.
We leave Elon Musk out of the pooled shares and the median. The Summary Compensation Tables report $2.3B for FY2018 (2021-08-26 proxy) and $158.4B for FY2025 (2026-10-19 proxy). These awards can dominate a pooled total. Their table values use the same grant-date accounting basis.
For Alex Karp in FY2024, we use $4,360,170 from the latest Summary Compensation Table. The 2025-04-25 proxy reports $4,630,170. The data keeps both figures and uses the latest table value in this comparison.
