Researcher

Jae-sun Seo

Jae-sun Seo is an electrical engineer whose research builds efficient hardware for machine learning and neuromorphic computing. He earned degrees at Seoul National University and the University of Michigan, then worked on cognitive-computing chips at IBM. At Arizona State University, he became an assistant professor, received an NSF CAREER Award, and coauthored the in-memory Vesti accelerator for deep neural networks. He joined Cornell Tech in 2023 and coauthored SPECTRA, an accelerator for speculative decoding in large language models, in June 2026. He is an associate professor in ECE and associate editor-in-chief of IEEE TCASAI, and was selected for KOCSEA's Mid-career Faculty Award in 2026.
