Thomas Wolf
Thomas Wolf is a Hugging Face co-founder and chief science officer. His earlier career included physics research and patent law before a return to machine learning. At Hugging Face, he helped connect language-model research with tools that others can use and extend. His shared papers include TransferTransfo, Transformers, and Datasets. The projects give developers common interfaces for models and data, with many maintainers and contributors doing the work. Wolf also helped initiate BigScience, whose collaboration released BLOOM in 2022. In 2025, he coauthored the Reachy Mini launch with Pollen Robotics colleagues, extending shared development into programmable robot hardware. His current interests include AI for scientific discovery.
