Matthias Jarke
Matthias Jarke was a computer scientist whose research covered information systems, databases and requirements engineering. He held the Information Systems and Databases chair at RWTH Aachen University from 1991 to 2021. From 2000 to 2021 he directed the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT, and from 2010 to 2015 he chaired the Fraunhofer ICT Group. In 2020 he won a conceptual modeling award, and the committee cited his work on requirements traceability and his initiating role in the Industrial Data Space initiative. He died in 2024, at the age of 71.
