Researcher

Malvin Carl Teich

Also known as Malvin C. Teich, Malvin Teich

Malvin Carl Teich combines quantum photonics with computational neuroscience, and he is professor emeritus at Columbia University and Boston University. In computational neuroscience, he established the role of fractal stochastic processes in neural information processing. He completed a Cornell PhD in 1966 and then joined the faculty of Columbia University in September 1967. An IEEE prize followed in 1969, and he received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1973. In 1995 he joined Boston University, and in 2005 Wiley published Fractal-Based Point Processes, a book he co-wrote.
