Anil Kapoor

Also known as Anil Surinder Kapoor

Anil Kapoor is an Indian actor and producer who works mainly in Hindi films, and he matters to AI policy through a case over misuse of his personality rights. His first three successes, Mashaal, Woh 7 Din and Meri Jung, made him a star in 1984 and 1985, and he won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor in 1988. Slumdog Millionaire, his first English-language film, was released in November 2008. In September 2023 the Delhi High Court issued an interim order in that case, and TIME placed him on its 2024 list of the 100 most influential people in AI. Subedaar, in which he stars, premiered on Prime Video in March 2026.

    A place on TIME's AI list

    TIME names him to its 2024 list of the 100 most influential people in AI, in the Shapers category.

    Subedaar on Prime Video

    He is an actor and producer who works mainly in Hindi films. He stars in Subedaar, which premieres on Prime Video in March 2026.
