Eliezer Yudkowsky
Eliezer Yudkowsky is a MIRI cofounder and public writer on reasoning and advanced AI risks. He helped establish the Singularity Institute with Brian Atkins and Sabine Atkins in 2000. The organization later shifted toward AI alignment and became the Machine Intelligence Research Institute. His essays for Overcoming Bias and LessWrong were collected in Rationality: From AI to Zombies. He also wrote Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. His later public work includes AGI Ruin, a call for a worldwide halt to large AI training runs, and If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies, coauthored with Nate Soares. Researchers including Paul Christiano have publicly disagreed with parts of his argument.
