Andrew Ng
Andrew Ng is a researcher, educator, and company builder whose work connects machine learning with practical applications. His education at Carnegie Mellon, MIT, and Berkeley led to Stanford research, including autonomous helicopter work with Pieter Abbeel, Adam Coates, and colleagues. He was the founding lead of Google Brain, with Quoc Le leading its reported 2012 experiments on unlabeled video images. Ng taught an online machine-learning class in 2011 and co-founded Coursera with Daphne Koller in 2012. After serving as Baidu’s chief scientist, he launched DeepLearning.AI courses and founded LandingAI. He also leads AI Fund’s venture-studio work. Ng is LandingAI’s executive chairman and founder; his CEO period ended in August 2024. His teaching continues through updated courses and practical exercises.
