David Ha
David Ha is Sakana AI’s co-founder and chief executive. He previously worked in financial markets and led Google’s research team in Tokyo. His papers include HyperNetworks, which create the weights of another network, sketch-rnn, which learns drawings as sequences of strokes, and World Models, which studies learning through a compact model of an environment. Sakana AI was founded in July 2023. Its later projects include combining existing models through evolutionary search and automating parts of the research process with the AI Scientist. Ha’s work links generative methods, simulated environments, and tools for developing further models through shared research work.
