David Randall
Also known as David A. Randall, Dave Randall
David Randall is a professor of atmospheric science at Colorado State University, and he is one of the authors of ClimSim, a NeurIPS 2023 dataset for machine-learning climate emulation. He began studying atmospheric science in the 1970s as a graduate student at UCLA. He joined the faculty at Colorado State in 1988, and the American Geophysical Union named him a Fellow for 2002. Colorado State gave him its 2005 Scholarship Impact Award, and the American Meteorological Society gave him its Charney Award in 2014. In 2012 CSU President Tony Frank named him a University Distinguished Professor, and in May 2025 he is one.
