Dario Amodei
Dario Amodei is Anthropic’s co-founder and CEO. His earlier career includes a Princeton doctorate in biophysics, postdoctoral research at Stanford, and work at Google Brain, Baidu, and OpenAI. His shared research included Deep Speech 2 and learning from human preferences, followed by language-model work at OpenAI. After leaving in December 2020, he helped establish Anthropic with colleagues, including his sister Daniela Amodei, the company’s president. Anthropic introduced Claude in 2023 as a text assistant through chat and API access. Amodei also writes about the possible benefits and risks of powerful AI. Machines of Loving Grace in 2024 and The Adolescence of Technology in 2026 set out his forecasts and proposals. Those essays state positions and possible futures whose outcomes remain uncertain.
